Top 50 Innovation TweetersWe thought it would be a fun summer activity to pull together a list of the top innovation personalities and information sharers on twitter. We know we follow a lot of great innovation people on twitter (including a lot of the great Innovation Excellence authors) and we are curious to see who you follow or who you think people should investigate to learn more about. We’ll then take your nominations and our favorites and compile them into a list to share back with you next Monday.

    I recommend Prof. Frank T. Piller, professor of management at the RWTH Aachen University and one of the world’s leading scholars for open innovation and mass customization. His blog (on both MC and OI) and his frequent tweets at @masscustom are suited to keep you up on speed about everything any MC/OI enthusiast needs to know.

    I nominate JR Reagan, Deloitte’s Federal Chief Innovation Officer, an innovator and frequent speaker on innovation topics. JR specializes in lightweight innovation and prototyping to assist clients with envisioning the ‘art of the possible’. JR serves as Senior Professional Faculty at Johns Hopkins University and has given guest lectures on Innovation and Solutions Development at Harvard University, Northwestern Kellogg and University of South Carolina. JR is a prolific Tweeter with a substantial following and uses the Tweets he finds to develop an internal Innovation QOD for 40,000 global team members on internal Yammer.

    As I thought about your delightful challenge I thought the tag “innovation” could be used in every blog or article I publish, and saw you as part of that inspiration.

    Nominating @MayoInnovation – in a short amount of time the Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation has moved from an insulated, multidisciplinary group to the center of innovation discussions in healthcare through twitter. @MayoInnovation through their utilization of tweetchats + storify, and effective use of links to external resources help tell the story and frame often complex problems of healthcare to ones that can be solved.

    Claudia Megele (@claudiamegele)has introduced the use of social media, twitter in particular, to the heart of the social work community, creating a welcoming, interesting and universally welcoming space within which professionals/service users/anybody can debate and discuss issues which effect them. Claudia introduced the @swscmedia debates and her selfless work continues apace. She should most certainly be on this list, if not a the top of it!
