Recognizing Excellence in Innovation Management: ISPIM Grand Prize 2017

ISPIM 2017

There’s a populist view of innovation as the lone genius working alone in a darkened laboratory suddenly having a “Eureka moment”.  Those people at the sharp end of innovation know how far away this is from the truth.  We know how much work goes into it, with a deep appreciation of the fundamental role of innovation management.

That’s why ISPIM, the International Society for Professional Innovation Management, is delighted to announce the launch of the ISPIM Grand Prize 2017, for Excellence in Innovation Management. This will be the third competition, building on the highly successful 2015 and 2016 events, won by the US Department of Energy and Orange respectively.

The competition will be open to all commercial enterprises. We welcome submissions from any company, including not-for-profit entities; however, it is not intended for academics.

We are looking for cases that significantly advance the practice of innovation management in proven application, not theory.  The advance should be in how innovation is managed, we are not seeking proposals that describe the actual end output, the what.

The deadline for entries is 21st April 2017.  A distinguished panel of judges will decide the Top 3 entries, who will be invited to present at the ISPIM conference in Vienna, Austria, on 19th June 2017.  The conference attendees will then decide the winner.

This year, the best entries that don’t make the Final 3 will also be invited to present in an industry track at the ISPIM conference.

For more information and details on how to enter, please go to https://www.ispim-innovation.com/ispim-grand-prize .  And if you know any other brilliant innovation managers whose work deserves to be recognized, please forward this article to them and encourage them to enter.

(ISPIM – the International Society for Professional Innovation Management – is an association of members from research, industry, consulting and the public sector, all sharing a passion for innovation management – how to successfully create new products, processes, and services from ideas to stimulate economic growth and well-being. Formed in Norway in 1983, ISPIM has members in over 70 countries and is the oldest, largest and most active innovation network in Europe, expanding rapidly in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.)
