Advance Innovation – Put World Creativity and Innovation Week April 15 – 21 in your 2017 calendar, now!

creativity-crisis-headline-300x126Use World Creativity and  Innovation Week April 15-21 (WCIW) to leverage your innovation skills, knowledge, tools, and attitudes.

WCIW started in response to a 2001 Canadian newspaper headline to open people’s minds and hearts to the notion that everyone has the capacity to make a creative difference in their lives and and others’. It begins each year on Leonardo da Vinci’s birthday.

How to Celebrate?

People who celebrate do so in their own way.  How might you, or your organization celebrate WCIW?

World Creativity and Innovation WeekHere’s what some have done

  • Plan for innovation, showcase the benefit from new ideas over the past 12 months.
  • Launch new products and initiatives
  • Sponsor conferences and meetings, entertain clients
  • Hold courses to advance capacity
  • Eat dinner backwards
  • Showcase past accomplishments
  • Highlight creative heroes

(In our town, we held a Living Like Leonardo festival that included a three-part celebration: Leonardo’s birthday, creativity in visual art and creativity in science.)

WCIW will be 16 in 2017. Put it on your calendar and inspire new thinking, new perspectives, new decisions, and/or new actions in time-collaboration with others all over the world.
